The Daunians in the Central Adriatic?

Abstract

Prior to the major Greek penetration into the Adriatic, the Daunians held a significant place among seafaring peoples engaged in trade. Archaeological documentation is added to and supports historical memory, which states that the Daunians controlled the area from Gargano to Cònero.
