Abstract

On February 11, 1945, the Communist Party of Yugoslavia (KPJ) established revolutionary power in Široki Brijeg. The process lasted for the next eight years until they completely liquidated the members of the anti-communist guerrillas of the First Herzegovina Crusader corps King Tomislav. Using the method of separation, liquidation and staged trials, the communist authorities focused their punitive expeditions on Široki Brijeg jataks and in this way gradually crushed and suppressed the anti-communist guerrillas from the wider area of Široki Brijeg. The communist authorities liquidated the crusaders, and most of them were sentenced to life sentences at the staged trials of the District Court in Mostar.
