Abstract
Truffles (genus Tuber) are hypogeous mushrooms that are intensively cultivated due to their gastronomic value and the decline of natural production. Modern truffle cultivation is based on planting inoculated seedlings on suitable soils of appropriate ecological conditions to complete the life cycle of the fungus. The purpose of the research is to find the optimal inoculation method that will ensure a satisfactory degree of mycorrhization. Holm oak was chosen as the host plant because it is a natural symbiont of black and summer truffles, our indigenous specie and ecologically suitable for the habitat of planned plantations. The use of inoculated seedlings with truffle mycelium is very wide, such as raising plantations, reforestation and recuperation of degraded habitats or their free sale. The research tested three methods of storage and germination of acorns, two methods of inoculation (inoculation with substrate and inoculation by injection into substrate) with different doses of mineral fertilizer and different treatments with fulvic acid. 19 different experiments were set up with a total of 1 320 holm oak seedlings inoculated with two species of the genus Tuber, black truffle (Tuber melanosporum (Vittad.)) and summer truffle (Tuber aestivum (Wulfen) Spreng.)).
