Abstract

Abstract In the period 2005-2014 in Virovitica General Hospital Maternity Ward there
had been 7856 deliveries with an average of 785 a year. The last five years was a
continuous decrease the number of deliveries. After continuous decrease, perinatal
mortality oscillated and in recent years was in the average level of the Croatian. Fetal
mortality throughout the allowance period was equal with minor variations as well as
subpartal mortality. Early neonatal mortality recorded significant decrease and the
whole time was low. Improving antenatal care and further education would lead to a
further reduction in perinatal mortality.
