Abstract

Summary:
In order to gain insight into the means of realization of patient’s rights to be informed about
medical procedure, a survey was conducted on 100 respondents. 97% know that the
gastroscopyis is examination of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum, and 66% of them
were informed about the manner, the course of execution and possible complications of the
diagnostic test. Familiarity with the preparation before the diagnostic test stated 97% of the
respondents. Most patients received the information in the Unit for endoscopy, 39% of them.
(from nurses 43% of patients, and from physicians, 40% of patients). Median mark for the
satisfaction with the quantity and quality of the information provided on the Likert scale of 1
to 10 within the group of respondents was 8 which is very high.
