Automatic tool selection in CNC machines

Abstract

The right selection of cutting tools to be used in processing is an important step in planning production on CNC machines. They must also meet the strict product quality requirements and provide the lowest possible share of costs in the total product price. The paper presents the principle of tool selection in machines with automatic tool exchange for single- and multi-stage processing.
