Abstract
Cats are at risk of developing malignant sarcomas, so called posttraumatic sarcomas, in eyes that have been traumatized or severely inflamed, with subsequent rupture of the lens capsule. The onset of neoplastic disease can be as early as several months and as late as 10 years or longer, after the rupture of the capsule. This report describes a posttraumatic sarcoma in a three-year old, non-pedigree cat.
