Abstract

For the effective fight against diseases and pests in agricultural production, in addition to classic pesticides, preparations based on basic substances can also be used. At the level of the European Union, there is a special legal provision (EC norm 1107/2009) that defines the application of basic substances and their effect on diseases and pests of agricultural crops. The advantage of the application of basic substances is the possibility of application in organic agricultural production. The basic substance, Na-hydrogencarbonate, is approved for use as a fungicide, with a particularly good effect on powdery mildew of agricultural crops (vines, cucumbers, watermelons, melons and other crops).
