Abstract

Neurofeedback (NFB) treatment is a non-invasive method, based on electroencephalography (EEG) and monitoring of brain waves which provides a feedback signal. It is a computer aided method of training
that shows electrical activity of the brain, allowing better self-regulation of brain and brain function. Neurofeedback is a relatively young method with increased development in the last twenty years, making its application more accessible for therapeutic purposes. Infra Low Frequency (ILF) neurofeedback developed by Sigfried and Susan Othmer, provides highly personalized NFB training, designed with a
purpose of finding individual training frequencies and protocol unique for every individual. It enables better self-regulation of brain activity, increases mental stability and consequently improves overall
functioning. In Institution for rehabilitation of hearing and speech SUVAG Karlovac, ILF neurofeedback has been a part of multidisciplinary approach since 2017. Previous clinical experiences confirm it as
a good support therapy for speech and language therapy and other treatments that the Institution provides in working with people with various disorders, primarily language, speech and communication
difficulties of various aetiologies.
