Abstract

Total hip arthroplasty (THA) has evolved significantly since its inception, becoming one of the most successful and transformativeprocedures in orthopedic surgery. This narrative review provides a comprehensive overview of the historical milestones,technological advancements, and evolving surgical techniques that have shaped modern THA. Starting with the origins of hip replacement,the review traces the development of the procedure and explores current trends such as minimally invasive approachesand enhanced recovery protocols. By examining the past and present of THA, this review aims to underscore the ongoing challengesand future directions in optimizing outcomes inpatients with hip pathology.
