Abstract

Each stage in a woman’s life comes with specific nutritional needs. Throughout her lifecycle, hormonal status, bone density, and the proportion of muscle and fat tissue change multiple times. All these changes can be managed through a holistic approach to health and by ensuring the right ratios, types, and amounts of nutrients at the right time. Specific nutrient needs become evident as early as adolescence and reproductive age, and are particularly pronounced during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as well as in the periods before and after menopause. Older age also has its own unique characteristics related to dietary guidelines and lifestyle.
