Abstract

The research deals with the PTSD among the disabled Croatian veterans who are members of the HVIDRA local Križevci. Among its 157 members, 49 (or 31%) suffer from the PTSD. This equals to 2.6% of all veterans in the area, which is considered to be the low occurrence barrier among them. Also, it is found that HVIDRA local Križevci members with 5 and more months of combat experience suffer more often from psychological disabilities in addition to their physical ones, probably due to multiple traumatic experiences. No significant differences were determined in relation to age, place of residence and education.
