Abstract

This paper presents the development of a MATLAB framework to automate the modelling, analysis, and design of anemometric guyed masts using the SAP2000 Open Application Programming Interface (OAPI). The framework adopts the current generation of Eurocode provisions and includes relevant loading cases. The efficiency of the OAPI is demonstrated through the analysis of two representative guyed masts with heights of 122 m and 164 m. Several design parameters are varied to identify the most favourable layouts in terms of steel consumption and execution time. The best initial mast layouts were selected, and potential improvements to the OAPI are highlighted.
