Abstract

This study aims to lay the groundwork for a more successful approach to community-based participatory design that incorporates changing dynamics. In this context, a literature review of community-based participatory design was conducted, and eight community-based participatory public space design studies from different regions worldwide were analysed. Eight cases were examined in terms of different aspects, and a SWOT analysis was conducted for each case. The data obtained from the SWOT analysis were compared with that from the literature, and recommendations were developed to increase the success of community-based participatory design applications.
