Abstract

Based on the experience of three research projects conducted by the Ethnographic Museum of Zagreb, the author formulates questions that may arise in relation to fieldwork of groups of ethnologists who engage in simultaneous research of a given area. He deals with the issues of dividing culture «by topics», of a homogenous and consistent implementation of a set research methodology, of the influence of the «subjective» aspect on the final research results and the possibilities to apply the research results. The author argues in favour of an application of the research results in the everyday practice on the researched area, with the objective of raising the population’s awareness of the values of the local identity.
