Abstract

Results obtained by studying history of architecture in Rijeka Port, primarily focusing on civil engineering structures, are presented. It is emphasized that first reinforced-concrete structures in Croatia were actually built in the Rijeka Port. First development stages of Rijeka Port are presented, with a description of structures, mainly consisting of warehouses. Reinforced-concrete floors, i.e. standard floors and mushroom shaped floors, built according to various patents, are presented. Various types of reinforced-concrete structures are also depicted.
