Abstract

Theological reflections by Cardinal Walter Kasper, famous German theologian and a long-time professor of dogmatic theology, bring into focus the image of Christ. The article thus touches certain issues of Christology in Kasper's theological researches and his attempts to discover the secret of the person of Jesus Christ, indicating the starting points and directions of Kasper's Christology. A special attention is paid to his conception of historical Jesus and of Christ of the faith, to the announcement of God's Kingdom, miracles Jesus performed, His death on the cross and His resurrection. The article highlights Kasper's positive contribution to modern Christology, and it also points to some issues which can be considered as disputable when compared to traditional Christology.
