Abstract

Lung abscess in infancy is rare. Primary lung abscess appears in formerly healthy children, and secondary lung abscess appears in children with an associated chronic disease. An eight and a half month old female infant is presented with primary lung abscess. The abscess was cured two weeks after intravenous antibiotic therapy. A small residual abscess cavity was cured one month after the therapy was finished. The causal bacterium was not isolated.
