Abstract

The paper analyses Bosnian and Herzegovinian experience in the
development of the media election monitoring program. The comparison between the
self-regulation print media model and electronic media external regulation model shows
that the self-regulation system of news, nominally managed by professional standards
and news worthiness, is not able to ensure a righteous, professional and expert
messaging on the election activities in the interest of political subjects and the
democratic public (the voters) without the external coercion.
