Abstract

Pneumatoceles are thin-walled, air-filled cysts within the lung. Most often they are a consequence of sequela to bacterial lung inflammation, blunt chest trauma or hydrocarbon aspiration. A 19- month-old male child is shown here with rare X-ray of pneumatoceles on both sides and located in the superior segments of both lower lobes (eyeglasses picture ). The pneumatoceles on the right side resolved spontaneously after three months, while on the left side after eighteen months from the beginning of the disease.
