Abstract

Diseases of the motor system are most often found in the working population, a fact that calls for introduction of a number of preventive measures. The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work has channelled many of its initiatives towards prevention of these diseases. The paper presents the European and international legislature concerning this subject, as well as the frequency of motor system-related difficulties in the countries of the European Union. The paper also enumerates motor system diseases which Croatian legislature recognizes as occupational diseases. At the same time, it describes clinical forms of these diseases and the working conditions which may cause them.
