Church in process of democratic changes in Croatia

Abstract
Analysing the role of Church in the process of democratic changes
in Croatia the author, in the first part, exposes phenomenology of
democracy in general. In that sense he sorts out three basic
characteristics of democracy: democracy as partitocracy, democracy
as nomocracy and democracy as change of authority in peaceful way, then he trries to point out in a specific challenge ali of three features in relation to Church.
In second part, retainig still on general and on principle level, the
author analyses relation between democratic and ecclesiastic logos,
Christian and lay anthropology, then relation between democracy and Christian sociology. Affirming how on that level exist serious problems with which yet Church on West can not do anything with it, the author emphasises that democracy, except the fact that democracy represents value of civilization, does not hide in itself some other immanent values, but democracy accepts ali values from concrete society that uses it. Then in that context even Church, as sociable factor, can represent, defend and offer its values.
Starting from these general premises, the author, only in the
third part, speaks about specificities of Croatian democracy in this
moment. That specificity, according to his opinion, essentially
determines historical inheritance, prevailing mentality in the people
and state of the war. In that sense he also presents present state of
democracy in Croatia as ethnocracy, he warns at denger that it can
degenerate in plutocracy, then he warns at the specific Church
obligation to do everything that democracy in Croatia shuold be
developed in - ethocracy.
