Abstract

The author attempts to demonstrate how Aristotle's thought is superficially irreconcilable to Christian belief A brief outline is presented on the history of the problem of the eternity of the world Artistotle's opinions are cited as well as two works of the same title by Christian philosophers: "De aeternitate mundi" by Philon of Alexandria and St. Thomas Aquinas. The author also compares several of Hegel's theses on the same theme, referring to an 1831 lecture on the philosophy of religion, concluding that the question of the eternity of the world has remained an important problem in modern philosophic-theologic thought.
