Abstract

In this article entitled "Formation for Affective Maturity", the author first discusses the importance and role of emotions, giving two examples of subconscious motivations. Then he proposes the following six criteria for the evaluation of affective maturity: 1) the capacity to love another person, not only oneself; 2) the capacity to control one's own drives; 3) the capacity to tolerate difficulties, suffering and renunciation; 4) the capacity to have a mature and not infantile conscience; 5) the capacity to express one's own aggression in a controlled way; 6) the capacity to live in accordance with truth.
