Abstract

This article deals with some reflections on the Catholics’
involvement in political life on the occasion of presidential
elections in Croatia. In the first part the author points at
some wrong or incomplete comprehensions of the Christians’
engagement in politics (e.g. strict dissociation between faith and
politics), and emphasises that politics is a noble and demanding
effort in service of the development of God’s Kingdom. In the
second part the author lists some of the preconditions of the
Catholics’ appropriate engagement in politics like: moral
practice, healthy laity, personal conscience, political pluralism,
Eucharist.

Keywords

political pluralism of the Catholics; common good; development of God’s Kingdom
