Abstract

One of the burning social-cultural and theological-pastoral
challenges, often debated nowadays, is the attitude towards the
institutions of marriage and family. The author first presents the
theological-pastoral evaluation of the truth about marriage and
family and explains the purpose and way of his work. Then he
tries, by theological-pastoral analysis and on the basis of several
founded researches carried out in the Republic of Croatia in the
last decades, to analyze the state of marriage and family. In the
end he offers a theological-pastoral conclusion about marriage
and family in contemporary social-cultural circumstances. He
realizes that these institutions, in spite of ever more intrusive
social freethinking, according to the researches, are nobly
evaluated with very high percentage. Though burdened by moral
disputes, yet they have not been rejected in Croatian society.
Moreover, they are perceived as the fundamental values.
