Abstract

The paper starts by defining the term "monitoring" and its use in civil engineering practice. The purpose of monitoring is explained as a process conducted to inspect behaviour of facilities during their construction and subsequent use. The condition of the facility and various parameters such as deformation, temperature, moisture, displacements, and corrosion, are monitored. Monitoring examples are given for.
