A TEACHING FILM IN HISTORY CLASS

Abstract
The article discusses application of a teaching film in history class in the fifth grade of elementary school. It is based on the main principle of cooperative learning – think – exchange – present. The focus is given to the essay questions and inclusion of emotions into learning process, for it has been proved that emotions stimulate understanding and memory. At the same time, metacognitive competence is developed – learning how to learn – which is a daily task, not only of history teachers, but of other subject teachers as well.
