Abstract

This paper presents the procedure for reliability estimation of a technical
system. The procedure is based on the application of Markov models and
system dynamics. Markov models with the use of differential equations, enables mathematical modeling of different states in technical system. The continuous simulation of system with feedback is made possible by system dynamics. The procedure described in the paper was applied to reliability estimation of the specific marine Diesel engine. The engine operational data were taken from the database of AMOS software package. The modeling of marine Diesel engine in real time was made based on the parameters calculated by Markov models. The simulation was performed with the help of simulation software POWERISM.
