The periodical Contributions to the History of Art in Dalmatia is an annual, and has appeared since 1953. It publishes peer-reviewed scholarly articles from the areas of art history and archaeology. In line with the purview and the programme tasks of the establishment, the profile of the journal is founded on texts that primarily refer to research into the artistic heritage of Dalmatia, including painting, sculpting, architecture, town planning, archaeology and the applied arts, in conjunction with the associated artistic oeuvres and phenomena. In the categorization of the National Science Council as a scholarly publication in the area of archaeology and art history it is awarded the highest grade (A1).
