Abstract

Yield curves and excitation energy dependence of gamma ray angular distribution coefficients a2 for the 54,56Fe (p, y0) reactions were calculated from the direct¬-semidirect capture model taking the giant dipole resonance unsplit. From the agreement with the experimental data it follows that the energy dependence of angular distribution of y-rays in these cases do not help in arguing that giant dipole resonances are isospin split.
