Sažetak
Some new aspects of bladder cancer development, its clinical signs and therapy are discussed. The significance of carcinoma in situ for further cancer progression is underlined, as well as the importance of lamina propria for bladder wall invasion. Cancer cell differentiation is stressed as a factor in determining disease progresion and therapy. Basic diagnostic procedures now include computerised tomography and ultrasonography, adding two more classical cystoscopy, cytology, endoscopic byopsy, bimanual palpation (in anaestesia) and urography. The predictors of malignant potential are classified as clinical, hystological, molecular and antigenic. Therapy is reported according to the practical division of bladder cancer into superficial, invasive, advanced and carcinomas in frigh risk patients.
