Treatment of Upper Respiratory Tract Infections
Bruno Baršić
Sažetak
Although the majority of the infections of the
upper respiratory tract are caused by viruses, they are in the
second place regarding the frequency of prescribing antibiotics.
Thus, antimicrobial treatment in such patients has no
value, except in three clinical entities, i.e. in patients with
proved streptococcus pharyngitis, in some with acute sinusitis
and in some with acute inflammation of the middle ear. In
the article are discussed advantages and drawbacks of some
methods of treatment in the three mentioned entities.
