The correlation between satisfaction with the choice of teaching profession in regard to some choice factors

Sažetak
The research was conducted during the academic year of 2017/2018 among the students of the Department of Teacher Education Studies in Gospic, University of Zadar. By using the FIT-Choice scale, it tried to determine the correlation between satisfaction of choosing teaching profession and certain factors involved in enrolling in that profession. The results of this research indicate that Salary makes a significant statistical difference in regard to the study year of the participants and that there is a statistically significant correlation between satisfaction with the chosen profession and Ability, Intrinsic career value, Shape future of children and motivation for Working with children. Furthermore, the research also indicated that satisfaction with the chosen profession and the choice of this profession as a fall-back career is statistically significant and negatively correlated which is, like the previous results, in accordance with the results of other research. In addition, it showed that the intrinsic value of teaching is the most important factor of overall satisfaction with the chosen profession. In the end, this research provided some guidelines and incentives for future research concerning the above-mentioned relations.
