Sažetak

Mycotoxins are toxins produced by molds which may cause acute and chronic intoxications called mycotoxicoses. Until now acute mycotoxicoses, which are caused by the exposure to high levels of mycotoxins in short period, appeared exclusively in tropical countries. They have tipycal clinic symptoms and high mortality. Chronic mycotoxicoses have less serious clinical appearance, but they may cause tumors and lesions of target organs. Both, acute and chronic mycotoxicoses are rarely proved in humans. The only mycotoxin that is proved to be ethiological agent of acute and chronical intoxication as well as the liver carcinoma is aflatoxin B1 and its derivatives.
