Sažetak
Social skills are the foundation of every living being. Social interaction begins with birth itself, with non-verbal communication between mother and child. As children continue to grow and develop, they face everyday challenges that need to be solved. In these choices of solutions, the child should be directed to interactions that are for the benefit of all who are in those relationships. Building relationships where understanding and managing emotions, especially among peers, are important skills to learn. Parents and family play the most important role in learning and acquiring these skills, and when we talk about a child’s primary school age, teachers and other professionals that participates in the child’s upbringing and education also play an important role. Peer acceptance and a good relationship with peers is very important, and at the same time it is an excellent training ground for acquiring, correcting and shaping social skills. Learning by working on projects is an extremely suitable method for the development of students’ social competences. Through mobility and international projects, teachers prepare and empower students for global challenges, get to know other cultures and gain new experiences that strengthen themselves and their social competencies. This work will show how students express, raise awareness and develop social skills through project activities in national and international projects. This paper will also present the results of research conducted on projects through which students could develop social competences.
