Sažetak
The aim of this paper is to highlight problems that can be identified at the level of lexi¬cal text patterning as an important component of academic text competence. These arise primarily in the domain of verb-noun collocations whose spatial and motion metaphors become particularly apparent through interlingual comparison with other scientific languages, e.g. dem Ansatz folgen ‘to adopt a scientific approach’, ‘primijeniti pristup’, ein Argument heranziehen ‘to consider an argument’, ‘upotrijebiti argument’, Unterschiede herausstellen ‘to emphasise differences’, ‘istaknuti razlike’. Bilingual dictionaries are particularly necessary for Croatian native speakers who are learning German as a foreign language and who want to improve their knowledge of verbo-nominal collocations in the language of science and academia. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to analyse the existing collocations in the bilingual dictionary for the language pair German-Croatian, and to show the relevance of contrastive analysis of conceptualisations for academic writing.
