Sažetak

Atrial fibrillation and acute coronary syndrome share many risk factors, so it is not surprising when they occur together. In the setting of acute coronary syndrome, the treatment of acute arrhythmia depends mainly on controlling the ventricular rate and its impact on the patient’s hemodynamic stability. Therefore, acute rate or rhythm control is applied. One of the main challenges in the setting of acute coronary syndrome is defining antiplatelet therapy along with anticoagulation therapy. Recent guidelines have offered different treatment options based on the patient’s bleeding and thrombotic risk profile. The percutaneous coronary intervention in this setting is better defined by new guidelines.
