Sažetak
The primary purpose of the European Vertical Reference System (EVRS) and its realizations (EVRF) is to establish a unified vertical reference system across Europe that integrates and harmonizes heterogeneous national vertical systems. This enables consistency of height data and ensures interoperability at the continental level, which is essential for a reliable execution of various geodetic and related professional and scientific tasks. The starting point for establishing and implementing such a system is the integration of national first-order levelling networks into the Unified European Levelling Network (UELN). Previous maintenance and periodic updating of national height data, together with activities aimed at the development of the EVRS, resulted in the establishment of three official realizations: EVRF2000, EVRF2007, and EVRF2019. The Republic of Croatia actively contributed to the establishment of the EVRS. In the late 1990s, the national Second High Accuracy Levelling Network (IINVT) was integrated into the UELN. In addition, EVRF realizations were carried out for individual epochs at the national level. Following the adoption of the most recent and currently valid realization EVRF2019, the European Vertical Reference System has been continuously maintained and improved. A new realization is expected upon completion of the ongoing activities, which include expanding the UELN network, updating national height data based on new levelling measurements, as well as developing improved methodological approaches for the realization of the EVRS.
