Frane Petrić and the Techology of his Era

Sažetak

Frane Petrić, an outstanding New-Platonic thinker of Croatian origin used to apply his knowledge in the field of natural philosophy in the technology of his time. In order to explore his activity Petrić is viewed in the context of his time and his contemporaries. It needs to be defined what the technology of his era actually was. It is being investigated what knowledge in the field of physics and technology he could have been familiar with and their sources and ways of communication ought to be defines. Finally one should evaluate which messages of Petrić's technological activity might be valid even today.
