Announcement: The 130th Anniversary of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, University of Zagreb

On 4 October 2012 it will be exactly 130 years since the day on which pharmacy education started at the University of Zagreb, Croatia.
Marking of this jubilee anniversary is the occasion to recollect the important events in the long history of the Faculty, remember the generations of professors, scientists, researchers, special-ists, collaborators and students who have dedicated the best and most creative years of their lives and professional careers to the Faculty, contributing to its development into a first-rate aca-demic, scientific and professional institution, the only one of this kind in the Republic of Croatia.
The jubilee celebration calls for a glimpse into the past, but is also an incentive for present and future achievements. Therefore, the Faculty wants to present the uniqueness of its 130-year-long activities and achievements to the general, academic, scientific and professional public, as well as to its former and future students of pharmacy and medical biochemistry. For this purpose, sci-entific and professional conferences, lectures, exhibitions, open door days will be organized and commemorative publications will be published during 2012.
Celebration of the 130th anniversary of the Faculty proceeds under the high auspices of the President of the Republic of Croatia, Professor Ivo Josipović, PhD, and will end with the anniver-sary gala on 25 September 2012.
