The care of addicts during the abstinence syndrome – suggestions for consultation liaison services

Sažetak
The basic principles of the health care process in the psychiatric
practice are: the holistic approach, the uniqueness of the human being, privacy,
dignity, therapeutic communication, absolute acceptance of the patients,
their inclusion, and help during an efficient adjustment. The holistic
approach implies the patient as a unique being in the social and cultural environment.
Every individual has his or her own needs and their fulfilling
during the illness is reduced or completely denied. Therapeutic communication
should be professional and directed towards the fulfilling of the patient’s
needs. In this article is discussing about health care of opiate addicts
and are given algorithms for consultation services based on clinical practice.
