Sažetak

In the season of forest fire protection 2012th year on the Adriatic coast and there were several major fires that have vegetation due to adverse weather conditions caused their great difficulty fire-fighters, and the consequences were relatively large burned areas or damaged. The fire, which broke out in the morning 23rd July 2012. In the field Bribira and spread to an area stretching from Bribira-Selca-Crikvenica (Kvarner fire) was one of them. The fire carried by a strong storm quickly spread and threaten the village, and with great efforts localized the 24th July. An analysis was weather 23rd and 24 July Synoptic and mesoscale analysis showed that over the northern Adriatic to time influenced anticyclone centered over central Europe and the cyclone centered over southern Italy which caused pronounced east and northeast flow-advekciju storm with cold air. The analysis of the wind on a smaller scale, it is shown that the time of the fire were fluctuations in wind speed, which is typical for a storm. But as the storm weakened there have been major changes in the short-term direction of the wind, because of the influence of the local orography became more pronounced. Therefore we can say that in the beginning after the outbreak of the dominant influence on fire behavior had the strongest winds. With the weakening storm brief but pronounced changes in wind direction are further influenced the movement of the fire front, and the fire was localized only when the storm weakened considerably.
