SELECTION OF A FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM TO REPLACE HALON 1301

Sažetak
Pursuant to Article 4 of the Act on the Ratification of Amendment to Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer, a by-law was passed listing the substances harmful to the ozone layer. In selecting replacements for halons, they need to comply with standard NFPA 2001 and the by-law. In addition, as this is an existing facility, accommodation and price are to be considered. One of the criteria is the long-term aspect of the solution, making certain that a fully 'green' gas system is selected. In continuation, a survey of gas replacements is given, and for the facility in question, there is a calculation for the application of the selected gas system, i.e. the so-called full immersion system. Recommendation for the installation of a gas system is also given.
