The possibilities of treatment of tooth root fractures

Sažetak

In this paper the authors are concerned with traumatic fractures of upper anterior teeth being the most frequent in this field. For the reasons of an easier analysis of this problem the root fracture are divided into those belonging to the apical, medium and lower third of the root, where the basic criterion in selecting the corresponding treatment was the vitality state of traumatic tooth. In addition to brief survey of up to now performed methods, the authors give their own treatments basically accomplished in two principal directions:
1. Treatment for vital teeth after traumatic fracture of the root regarding the reposition and immobilizaition, followed by regular vitality and X-ray controls of fracture healing. In this part the authors briefly deal with fracture healing processes.
2. Some treatment possibilities for avital teeth after root traumatic fractures carried out on their own clinical material.
