Sažetak
During the war conflicts 1992-95, within the Bosnia and Herzegovina three self-governing territories were established. One under control of Republic Srpska, second under the Croatian Defence Council and third under Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina. By the end of the war in 1995 and in lesser degree in 1996, these territories were spatially changed and they were defined by size and by territorial location. Up to that time each of these territories became practically ethnic monolitic, because the members of ethnic minorities to the fullest extent escaped during the war operations, were expelled or they „voluntarily“ emigrated. What is especially important, with the restoring of peace only lesser part of them returned to their former dwelling places. In this paper we researched, according the 1991 Census, how many inhabitans lived within above mentioned territories and determined their ethnic structure. On the basis of these data we analysed by war caused ethnic and spatial changes in Bosnia and Herzegovina and on each of three territories. We also researched who „got a better deal“ through these changes. On the basis of our insight we presented estimations about ethnic preserved conditions and effectiveness of leading policies of these nations.
