Sažetak

The article speaks of engagement for human rights, especially the rights of minors with emphasis on the Salesian mission. Through their active work in education and promotion of a culture of education, the Salesians accept and promote the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human rights. Unfortunately, formation and education today are often in a difficult situation. Pope Benedict XVI confirms this when he speaks of the alarming situation of education.
It is tragic that even today there are many children and youth whose rights are violated in the field of formation and education. The founder of the Salesians, St. John Bosco, wanted to help to educate marginalized children and youth convinced that in the heart of every young person there is something good. By creating an accepting ambient, don Bosco's educational system forms people of solidarity, active and responsible citizens who will have meaning and live with joy, resonsibility and competence. At the center of his task was the youth as protagonists (active participation), especially the poorest, trust in the youth and communal experience. Included in this integral educational project is the Christian view of the person and life. Promoting human rights and a culture of human rights, especially the rights of minors, is a privileged way for achieving the preventive educational system in contemporary society. The author finally gives several proposals for accomplishing these goals.
