Sažetak

The authors examined the occurrence of palatal invagination in permanent upper incisors of 500 selected patients varying in age (290 females and 210 males). Only examinees with all four upper incisors were included in the study. A nomalies were grouped according to class, sex and symmetrical appearance. Of the 500 examinees, 274 did not present any evidence of enamel invagination; the remaining showed various phases of invagination, which were classified into four groups according to Hallett. In relation to the number of 2000 teeth examined, 386 (84.3% ) were in Class I and II of invagination, 7 (1.5% ) in Class 3 and 4. The remaining 65 teeth (14,2% ) had caries or were filled in the region predisposed for invagination . Data analysis indicated no significant difference in the development of invagination between males and females.
