Sažetak The problem of translation of poetry is being approached theoretically. Terms version, interpretation are being analysed (taken over primarily from French sources) with the purpose of adapting them to Croatian usage, in wich they are meant to function as qualititive descriptors of translation as a genre. The need for theoretical consideration of poetry is being stressed, as well as as the need to apply "The Rule of The Dominant Factor" in the process of determining the extent of the so called freedoms of translation.
