Extensive burns in traffic accidents

Sažetak

A large increase in the number of traffic accidents is an inevitable consequence of traffic. Extensive burns following traffic accidents either singly or more often associated with other heavy injuries contribute to the number of seriously injured as well as dead. In about 50 percent of our patients burns dominated the clinical picture. The other half were multiple injury patients in whom extensive burns were combined with heavy injuries of the head, mostly lower extremities, chest and abdomen. Complicated and long treatment of the latter group of patients was due to the injury of several systems the burn disease being of major importance.
